Olasubomi Sofowora is a seasoned Brand Communications professional and Social Impact Champion with over fifteen years of diverse experiences. She was the Extension Services & Knowledge Management Manager at Flour Mills Nigeria, where she led the design and execution of Value Chain Development programs.

This role followed her nearly five-year tenure as the Brand Marketing & Program Manager of the Agro-Allied Division at Flour Mills Nigeria. Olasubomi also served as the Chairperson of the Flour Mills of Nigeria (FMN) Women Network, which was set up to improve gender diversity and promote women’s development within the organization. During her tenure, she was able to scale up the activities of the network leading to FMN receiving a special Recognition by IFC in Women’s Empowerment & Leadership and for  Championing Childcare under the Nigeria 2 Equal programme.

Olasubomi also played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Muhammad Sanusi II (MSII) SDG Initiative which is one of the programs under the 1MT’s umbrella and this stemmed from her position as an advisor to His Highness Muhammad Sanusi II in his role as one of the 17 United Nations SDG Advocate.

Olasubomi has a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics with a major in Extension and Rural Development from the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta. She also has a master’s degree in management from the University of Lagos, a certificate in Business Sustainability Management from the University of Cambridge, UK and was  a Fellow of the Advanced Leadership in Social Impact Fellowship at Queen’s University, Canada. 

She is the initiator of Woven Impact Network; a non-for-profit organization set up to systematically tackle developmental issues with initiatives that are primarily focused on empowering grassroots women. She is the Vice President Projects of Aiesec Alumni Nigeria, sits on a couple of boards, and volunteers as a facilitator & mentor with the FATE Foundation amongst other impact-based activities.
